DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Tuesday rejected the bail plea of BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in three cases filed with Paltan Thana in city on charge of vandalism, arson attack and sabotage.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sesion Judge M Quamrul Hossain Molla gave the order in response to the petition at noon.

Mirza Fakhrul’s lawyer Zoynul Abedin Mezbah confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On May 20, the court of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate also rejected bail petition of Fakhrul.

The three cases were filed against the BNP leader in January. Law enforcers arrested him from in front of National Press Club on January 6.

At least 76 cases were filed against Mirza Fakhrul, so far, on charge of sabotage.
