CHITTAGONG: Police, in overnight drives, arrested 79 persons including two activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from different places of the district early Thursday.

Of the arrestees, 8 are accused in regular case and 69 are wanted in different other cases.

The law enforcers also nabbed two Jamaat-Shibir men, who are accused in sabotage cases, during the drives.

District’s Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) Mohammad Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
