DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina phoned India’s West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday night on arrival at the Shahjalal International Airport VIP lounge.

In addition to welcome Mamata in the soil of Bangladesh, the premier requested her, "You must stay here at least another day. You cannot go back tomorrow! "

In response to Bangladesh PM, Mamata said, "Let's think! Actually, I have a lot of work in Kolkata." Prime Minister also invited Mamata her residence at night. Mamata smiled and said, 'I'll see you tomorrow. "

On Saturday, India’s Ananda Bazar Patrika published the conversation Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the phone on arrival at the airport.

Mamata Banerjee arrived in Dhaka Friday night as part of the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The flight, carrying the West Bengal CM and her delegation, landed at the airport around 8:31pm Friday, a day before the arrival of Narendra Modi in his two-day visit from June 6.

The foreign ministry officials welcomed him in the airport.
 
It is her second visit to Bangladesh after assuming power as West Bengal CM.

She is scheduled to leave Bangladesh on Saturday (June 6) after attending some official programs between Narendra Modi and his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina.
