CHITTAGONG: Police, in overnight drives, arrested 83 people including three activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from different places of Chittagong district early Tuesday.

The law enforcers also seized 116 liters of liquor and one kilogram cannabis during the drives.

Of the arrestees, seven people are accused in regular cases while 73 are wanted in different other cases.

Chittagong police additional superintendent (Special Branch) Mohammad Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
