CHITTAGONG: Police, in overnight drives, detained 98 people including four activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from different areas of the district on Thursday.

The law enforcer team also recovered a pipe gun and 40 liters of liquor from Satkania Thana.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) in Chittagong Mohammad Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said that of the detainees, 10 persons were accused in regular cases while 84 others had arrest-warrants.

Lawpersons also held three Jamaat activist and a Shibir men from during the special drive. They are accused in sabotage cases, Naimul Hasan added.
