SATKHIRA: Police arrested district Jamaat Ameed Maolana Abdul Khalek alias jollad Khalek with a foreign pistol and two round bullets from a secret meeting at a Madrasa in Sadar upazila early Tuesday.

He is accused of several cases including two of murders and war crimes during Liberation War 1971.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, SI Kamal Hossain said, few days ago Abdul Khalek got bail and started plotting to create sabotage.

Acting on tip-off, police raided Khalilnagar Madrasa. Later sensing presence of police, Jamaat activists blasted few hand bombs and fled the scene. But police managed to arrest Khalek with arms.
