CHITTAGONG: Police, in overnight drives, arrested 79 persons including three men of BNP, Jamaat, and Shibir from different places of the district till Thursday morning.

The law enforcers also recovered 96 liters wine and 200 grams cannabis during the drives.

District’s additional superintendent of police (ASP) (special branch) Muhammad Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The ASP said that of the arrestees, 2 BNP and Jamaat men were held in the drives. They were accused of carrying out sabotages.

Besides, nine persons were accused in regular cases while 67 others had arrest-warrants, he added.
