CHITTAGONG: At least 79 people, including an activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir, were arrested in Chittagong district.

Police conducted the special drives in different parts of the district from Monday night to Tuesday morning.

Moreover, police also seized 125 liters of liquor and 1,500 pieces of yaba tablets.

Chittagong additional police super (special branch) Muhammad Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Police also arrested an activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir named Jalal from Satkania upazila, he added.

He further said the arrestees are accused in different cases.
