KHULNA: Police detained 24 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami along with three bombs and bomb making materials from a leader’s house at Gobra village under Koira upazila Sunday noon.

Koira Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Harendra Nath Sarkar told banglanews that, being tipped off about the secrete meeting of around 150 women leaders and activities of Jamaat, police conducted a drive in the area and detained 28 people.

However, other Jamaat women fled the spot and detained four women released as they were underage.

The law enforcers also seized three bombs and bomb making materials from their possession.

A case would be filed in this connection, the OC added.
