DHAKA: BNP chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia expressed deep sorrow at the casualties in stampede while collecting zakat in Mymensingh.

In a message of condolence, she prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

BNP Chairperson’s press wing officer confirmed the matter to media.

She prayed for the early recovery of injured as well.

The BNP chairperson also demanded quick investigation to trace out under what circumstances the tragic incident happened.

Besides, Khaleda Zia urged the local administration and the government to provide appropriate compensation to the affected families.
