NOAKHALI: An activist of Jubo Dal, the student wing of BNP, was shot dead by miscreants in Amishapara union Somaimuri upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman Habib, 20, son of Suja Mia of Batabi village of the union.

Upazila Juba Dal former general secretary Mokhlesur Rahman claimed Habibur was activist of Jubo Dal.

Locals told banglanews that a gang of armed criminals stormed into their house and chased Habib on Saturday night, on Eid day.

At one stage, they shot him in his head while he started running through nearby paddy field to escape the attack.

Later, he was admitted to Noakhali Medical College Hospital and then shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning.
