PIROJPUR: Police arrested eight men of BNP and its youth wing Jubo Dal and student wing Chhatra Dal from Pirojpur district.

They, accused in several cases, were arrested in drives conducted from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon.

Pirojpur additional superintendent of police (ASP) Abu Ashraf told banglanews that they were arrested for the cases which were filed in January and February with different thanas.

The arrestees are Pirojpur municipality unit BNP leader Abdus Sattar, district Chhatra Dal members Ali Ahmed and Limon, Sadar upazila Jubo Dal member Firojul Islam, BNP activist Alamin, Zianagar upazila Jubo Dal general secretary Khan Nasir Uddin, Bhandaria upazila Chhatra Dal joint general secretary Nazmul Hasan and Mothbaria upazila Chhatra Dal general secretary Ahiduzzaman Khan.
