40-day program on Bangabandhu’s death aniv

DHAKA: Awami League (AL)-led incumbent government has chalked out a 40-day program to observe the death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15.

The program will begin from August 1 by paying tribute to the grave of Bangabandhu in Tungipara of Gopalganj district. Later, AL leaders and activists will pay homage after 12:00pm on the day.

To attend the program a delegation led by AL general secretary and public administration minister Syed Ashraful Islam will go to Tungipara around 6:00am on  August 1.

Moreover, a blood donation program and discussion will be arranged around 4:30pm on the day on the premises of Bangabandhu Bhaban in city’s Dhanmondi area with the attendance of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

A candlelight procession will be held at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi.

AL associated organizations will also observe the death anniversary with separate programs.
