DHAKA: Changing the decision of sending BNP leader Mosaddek Ali Falu to jail, the court accepted the bail of him following the appeal of reconsideration.
Earlier at 1:10pm on Thursday, the BNP leader surrendered to the court and pleaded for bail. Rejecting the bail plea, Metropolitan Magistrate Mahmud Adnan ordered to send Falu to jail.
Later, hearing the appeal of reconsideration the order filed by Falu’s lawyer Sanaullah Mia, the magistrate cancelled the previous order and granted the BNP leader’s bail.
However, public prosecutor Abdullah Abu opposed the plea.
On February 3, Badda Thana sub-inspector (SI) Humayun Kabir filed the case with the thana on charge of committing sabotage and blasting cocktails at Badda area in city.
On June 27, investigation officer of the case Akhtaruzzaman Sarker submitted the chargesheet against 60 including Falu.
Falu was on bail release till the report submission by police. On Thursday, he surrendered to the court and sought bail.
