CHITTAGONG: Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) former mayor and also port city Awami League president ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury and sixteen defendants received bail after surrendered before the court.

Chittagong divisional special judge Mohammad Ruhul Amin passed the order on Sunday.

The court also set to record deposition in another corruption case against the former mayor. Due to the absence of witness the court deferred the date to September 22.

Mohiuddin’s lawyer Rony Kumar Dey told banglanews that a corruption case against Mohiuddin had been transferred from Metropolitan Session Judge Court to Divisional Special Judge Court.

Following the rules, Mohiuddin among 16 defendants surrendered to the court, which later ordered the bail with an undertaking of Tk 30,000 bond each.
