SYLHET: Detective Branch (DB) of district police on Tuesday detained former central organizing secretary of Jamat-e-Islami’s student front organization Islami Chhatra Shibir, and also a UK emigrant, Emran Ali on charge of financing in sabotage.

District police additional superintendent (special branch) Sugyan Chakma told banglanews that law enforcers detained Emran Ali from Gorpur village under Balaganj upazila of Sylhet district early Tuesday.

Meanwhile, detainee’s family members claimed Emran Ali came to Bangladesh a few days ago to settle disputes over their land property.
