DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday declined the bail pleas of BNP joint secretary general Amanullah Aman in 44 cases.
Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Quanrul Hossain Molla passed the order after holding a hearing.
Dhaka CMM Court sent Aman to jail after his surrender to the court on August 2.
Earlier on July 9, the High Court (HC) granted four weeks anticipatory bail to Aman in 42 cases, BNP standing committee member MK Anwar in nine cases and Khaleda Zia’s adviser Abdul Awal Mintoo in one case.
Later on July 27, a four-member Appellate Bench, led by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, cancelled the bail and ordered them to surrender before the court within seven days as the prosecution pleaded against the HC order.
