KHULNA: Miscreants shot dead Najrul Islam Naju, son of reserved female councilor from ward no. 2 of the city corporation Shahida Begum, at Natun Rasta intersection in town Wednesday night.

Spokesperson of Khulna metropolitan police Moniruzzaman Mithu told banglanews Naju, son of Khulna Baby-taxi drivers’ union president Sohrab Hossain Dado, was shot dead on Khulna-Jessore highway near BGB HQ of Khulna sector around 10:30pm.

Police sent the body to Khulna Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) morgue for autopsy, he added.

Meanwhile, victim’s mother Shahida Begum suspected one Sohel for the murder.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Daulatpur Thana Shafiqul Islam told banglanews they recovered a pistol along with three eounds of bullet from the spot.

There were several cases filed with the thana against the deceased, he added.
