Mahmudur jailed for 3yr

DHAKA: Daily Amar Desh acting Editor Mahmudur Rahman has been jailed for three years as found guilty in graft case for concealing wealth status to Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Abu Ahmed Jamadar, Judge of the special judge court-3 of Dhaka, passed the order on Thursday at Baskhibazar in the capital.

On April 13 of 2010, ACC filed the corruption case against the Mahmudur Rahman with Gulshan Thana. The charge sheet was filed on July 15, 2010.

While, Mahmudur Rahman was arrested in April 2011 regarding publication of an alleged Skype conversation between a war crimes judge and a Belgium-based expert.
