DHAKA: The government will take an initiative to form a commission to investigate whether there was any political link with the assassination of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Law minister Anisul Huq made the disclosure while replying to a question at ‘BBC Sanglap’ program at TCB auditorium in city on Sunday.
The minister said that a group of Awami League men including Khondaker Mostaq Ahmad allied with the defeated anti-liberation elements and a group of ill-motivated army personnel in creating the massacre.
BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and others also get benefit from the murder, he added.
According to the minister, the would-be commission will investigate the tragic incident.
Among the discussants of the program, Dhaka University professor Syed Manzoorul Islam and Colombia University professor Dr Rawnak Jahan opined that there was also foreign political involvement in this murder.
