DHAKA: Supreme Court Appellate Division upheld the High Court order granting bail to BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and leader Asifa Ashrafi Papiya in sabotage cases.

An Appellate Division bench led by Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana passed the order on Monday.

High Court granted bail to Rizvi on July 7 in two cases filed on January 19 this year. Papiya got bail last month in three cases file on February and March last.

Later prosecution filed petition to Supreme Court seeking a stay on the order.
