DHAKA: Shipping minister Shahjahan Khan commented that the ruling Awami League has no intention to destroy BNP.
He said: “We’ve no intention to ruin BNP. But people, who committed crimes, will be tried under special tribunal.”
The minister made this assertion while speaking at a commemoration program to pay tribute to the martyrs of August 15 and August 21.
The program, organized by Muktijoddha Prajanma League (MPL), was held at Bangabandhu Avenue in city on Saturday.
‘BNP always wants to solve all problems through democratic means. Is burning people to death a democratic way?’
According to the minister, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will come under trial as the instigator of all crimes.
AL central leader Advocate Balaram Poddar, MPL vice-president Mesbah Uddin and its general secretary Munsi Ebadul Islam, among others, were present at the discussion, chaired by MPL president Advocate Asaduzzaman Durjoy.
