DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday placed BNP chairperson’s adviser Shawkat Mahmud on four-day remand in four cases of sabotage.

The court of metropolitan magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan passed the remand order after holding a hearing as police plead for 80-day remand in eight cases.

Of the eight, hearing of four cases was held on Monday while of other four cases will be held in next week.

Meanwhile, the same court placed Chhatra Dal president Rajib Ahsan on three-day remand in three cases filed with Paltan Thana in city.
