DHAKA: A Dhaka court deferred till October 1 the hearing on charge framing against BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and 25 others in a sabotage case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atikur Rahman Wednesday set the date accepting a time plea of defense lawyer.

Defense counsel Joynul Abedin Mesbah filed a petition, seeking deferment of the date of hearing as Fakhrul is staying in Singapore for medical treatment.

Earlier on March 2, 2013, police filed the case for vandalizing and setting fire to vehicles during hartal-blockades.

Later, on March 26, 2013, police submitted the charge-sheet against 26 including BNP acting secretary general Fakhrul.
