DHAKA: Namaz-e-Janaza of Jatiya Party (Zafar) chairman and also former prime minister Kazi Zafar Ahmed, who passed away Thursday morning, will be held at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) South Plaza and Baitul Mokarram National Mosque in city on Friday.

The Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at 11:00am at JS and after juma prayers at Baitul Mokarram.

Kazi Zafar’s personal secretary Golam Mustafa informed banglanews adding that burial of the politician will depend on the decision of the deceased’s wife Momtaj Begum and daughter Kazi Joya Ahmed.

Earlier at 7:00am, the veteran politician breathed his last at United Hospital in city after a cardiac attack at the age of 76.

Born on July 1 in 1939 at an eminent Kazi family in Comilla, Zafar passed Entrance examinations from Khulna Zilla School and Intermediate examinations from Rajshahi Government College.

He had his honors and Masters in history from Dhaka University.
