DHAKA: Relief and Disaster Management minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya expressed fear that conspirators may launch attack on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also president of Awami League, at any time.

He also urged leaders-activists of the party to be aware about the conspirators.

The minister made the remarks while addressing an extended meeting of Dhaka City Awami League on Friday morning.

Maya said, “Sheikh Hasina is the target of conspirators and conspiracy does not stop. She is always in the targets. The conspirators could attack on her at any time.”

To foil any kind of conspiracy, leaders-activists of the party need to be vigilant and alert, he added.

The extended meeting was held as part of preparation of mourning rally of Awami League (AL) marking the National Mourning Day on August 30 and discussion meeting of Dhaka city AL on September 9.

The minister said the conspiracy was to begin since 1970 election. The conspiracies were in ‘71, conspirators killed Bangabandhu in 1975. Sheikh Hasina is now the target.

They know that the blood of Bangabandhu does not betray. For this reason, they have repeatedly tried to assassinate Sheikh Hasina, the senior AL leader added.
