COMILLA: Jatiya Party (Zafar) chairman and also former Prime Minister Kazi Zafar Ahmed will be buried at family graveyard in Chaudagram upazila of Comilla district Saturday after couples of Namaj-e-janazas.
The seventh janaza of Kazi Zafar was held at Chaudagram upazila around 1:15pm where five thousands people from all walks of life, including Upazila BNP former presndent Taher Palasi, Jatiya Party presidium member Lutfar Rahman Helal, leaders-activists took part.
Family sources said he would be laid to rest at family graveyard after eight namaj-e-janaza at Chiorah School ground after asr prayers.
Prior to that, two janajas were held at Comilla central eidgah ground and at Comilla Sadar South Suagazi ground.
Earlier on Friday, four Namaz-e-Janazas of Kazi Zafar Ahmed were held at Tongi mill gate mosque adjacent to Ijtema ground, at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad, at Baitul Mokarram National Mosque and Azad Masjid in Gulshan area in Dhaka.
Earlier on Thursday, the veteran politician breathed his last at United Hospital in city after a cardiac arrest at the age of 76.
Born on July 1 in 1939 at an eminent Kazi family in Comilla, Zafar passed Entrance examinations from Khulna Zilla School and Intermediate examinations from Rajshahi Government College.
He had his honors and Masters in history from Dhaka University.
