LAXMIPUR: A local unit Jubo League man was killed as a covered-van rammed into him in Chandraganj area of Laxmipur district on Sunday noon.

The deceased was identified as Nurul Islam, resident of Basudiya village of Chandraganj union and former joint secretary general of the union unit.

District Jubo League member and also Ramgati upazila Awami League president Mesbah Uddin Helal told banglanews that Nurul Islam was going to Laxmipur by a motorcycle.

A covered-van hit the bike leaving the rider dead on the spot, he added.
