BENAPOLE (JESSORE): Police detained Jessore district unit former amir and also a central committee leader Maulana Azizur Rahman with five petrol bombs in Jhenaidah district on Tuesday morning.

Police also nabbed Jhenaidah municipality ward unit amir Moazzem Hossain at that time.

According to the police, Jamaat men gathered for a secrete meeting to carry out subversive activities. On a tip-off, they conducted a drive against the Jamaat men and detained two of its leaders.

Moreover, law enforcers seized five petrol bombs from their possession.

Police further said that Azizur Rahman was accused in several arms and explosion cases with Jessore and Sharsha thanns.

Jhenaidah Sadar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Hasan Hafizur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
