NOAKHALI: Immediate after the issuance of arrest warrant, police arrested Amir Ahmed alias razakar Amir Ali for allegedly committing crimes against humanity during liberation war.

He was picked up from his residence at South Fakirpur in Maizdi in the district town around 12:30pm Monday, District police super Elius Sharif told banglanews.

Earlier in the morning, International Crimes Tribunal issued warrants for arrest five razakars of Noakhali who allegedly committed crimes against humanity in 1971.

Three-member tribunal led-by chairman justice Mohamamd Anwarul Haque passed the order in reply to prosecution’s petition.
