MEHERPUR: Police arrested twenty accused, including nine activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, from different upazilas of Meherpur district.

Of the detainee, four were sentenced in mobile court, nine were accused in sabotage cases while five in regular cases, one each in GR and CR case.

According to sources concerned, separate team of Meherpur police conducted drives in Sadar, Gangni and Mujibnagar upazilas between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Additional police super Ahmaruzzaman told banglanews that during overnight drives, several team led by superintendent of police Hamidul Alam arrested warranted accused from different places.
