GAIBANDHA: A district court has sent back Manzurul Islam Liton MP of Gaibandha-1 constituency to jail denying his bail petition in the case of shooting a minor boy Sourav in the area.

District additional chief judicial magistrate (Sundarganj) court judge Maynul Hasan Yusuf passed the order on Wednesday noon.

Defense lawyer Sirajul Islam Babu told banglanews they submitted a bail petition in the cases of attempt to murder and vandalism as well.

The judge sent back Liton to jail rejecting his bail petition and set October 25 as next date of hearing.

Earlier on October 2, MP Liton shot a minor boy Sourav, who is currently under treatment at Rangpur Medical College and Hospital, by his licensed pistol.

Later, the boy’s father filed a case against Liton with Sundarganj Thana of Gaibandha district.

Moreover, one Hafizar Rahman of Sarbananda Union of Sundarganj upazila filed a case against the MP on allegation of vandalism and looting.
