DHAKA: Police in separate drives detained 21 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student front Islami Chhatra Shibir from different places of the city.

During the drives conducted in Mirpur, Jatrabari, Shah Ali, Mohammadpur, Adabar between Tuesday night and Wednesday noon, law enforcers seized cocktails and party banners from the detainee’s procession.

Identity of the detained Jamaat-Shibir men could not be known.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media center deputy-police commissioner Muntasirul Islam confirmed the matter.
