Khaleda admits movement failure

LONDON: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, at a rally in central London Sunday, acknowledged her party’s failure to build a movement against the incumbent government.

She said, “The movement witnessed across the country was not carried out in the capital. Even the country did not witness such strong movement ‘during the time of independence’.”

Blaming government oppression for the failure, the BNP chairperson said that their leaders-activists could not make such strong movement for the torture of the government.

She called upon all irrespective of political parties and opinions to build national unity aiming to overthrow the incumbent government.

BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman and BNP chairperson's adviser Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury were present at the meeting.
