DHAKA: The family members of death row convict war criminal Salauddin Quader Chowdhury met him at Dhaka Central Jail Thursday.

They met him in the afternoon following the permission from jail authorities to meet the convict here.

The 15-member family include Salauddin’s wife Farhat Quader Chowdhury, elder son Faiaz Quader Chowdhury and his wife Tania Khandaker, two other sons Hummam Quader Chowdhury and Fazlul Quader Chowdhury, daughter Farjin Chowdhury and her husband Jafar Khan.

Besides, Salauddin’s sisters Zobaida Quader Chowdhury and Hasina Quader Chowdhury, and his cousin Iqbal Hossain and other close relatives.

They left the jail at 1:28pm after staying here for around an hour.

The family members, however, did not disclose whether they would seek mercy from the President.

Earlier, they reached at the jail gate around 12:20pm.
