DHAKA: The High Court on Tuesday granted three-month bail to BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in three sabotage cases filed with Paltan Police Station in city.
An HC bench comprising Justice Rezaul Haque and Justice Khairuzzaman passed the order in response to a ruling on permanent bail to the BNP senior leader.
Fakhrul’s lawyers Barrister Rafiq-ul-Haque, Khandaker Mahbub Hossain and Joynul Abedin moved for him in the court while additional attorney general Momtaz Uddin Fakir was the prosecutor.
Earlier, the Appellate Division directed the High Court bench to settle the rule within two weeks.
Police filed the cases during the hartal and blockade, enforced by BNP-led 20-party alliance, in January this year.
