JESSORE: Police, in overnight drives, arrested 78 people, including 12 leaders-activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir, from different places in eight upazilas of the district.

Jessore district police control room on duty police official Mizanur Rahman confirmed the development to banglanews.
 
He said that of the arrestees, 11 are leaders-activists of Jamaat while one is the activist of Chhatra Shibir. Rests were accused in regular cases while some are wanted.

They will be sent to the court on Friday afternoon, the police official added.
