DHAKA: BNP demanded the Election Commission (EC) to avoid the inclusion of Members of Parliament (MPs) from campaigns of upcoming municipal elections.

BNP chairperson’s adviser Dr Osman Faruq informed the media after a meeting with the chief election commission at the EC secretariat in city on Sunday.

Earlier around 1:45pm, a six-member delegation met chief election commission (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad regarding the upcoming municipal polls.

The BNP delegation included Samsuzzaman Dudu, Moazzem Hossain Alal, SM Abdul Halim, Captain Suja Uddin and Shayrul Kabir.
