SATKHIRA: Joint forces arrested 39 people, including five activists of Jamaat-e-Islami from eight thanas of Satkhira district on allegation of sabotage plan.

Of the arrestees, five are activists of Jamaat and 34 are accused in regular cases.

They have been sent to court this morning, Satkhira district police special branch sub inspector (SI) Enamul Haque told banglanews.

Law enforcers, during the special drives conducted between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, arrested 10 people from Sadar Thana while three from Kolaroa, four each from Tala and Asashuni upazilas, five from Shyamnagar, and two each from Debhata and Patkelghata upazilas.

Besides, detective police arrested three people with 15 bottles of phencidyl.
