NARAYANGANJ: At least 50 people were injured and several houses ransacked during an internecine clash between local Mohila League and Chhatra League of the ruling party in Rupganj Thana on Saturday night.
 
Locals said the clash took place at about 8pm between Shahin group led by Chan Mia, president of Chanpara unit of Chharta League, and Nazma Hasina Hazi group of Mohila League for four hours.

Rivalry over drug and gambling business has been reported from the area.

The OC of Rupganj Thana Forcan Sikder told banglanews24.com.bd that on information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. “Additional police have been deployed in the area.”

Among the injured, 32 were admitted into different hospitals of Narayanganj.
