CHITTAGONG: Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Islami Chhatra Shibir locked into clash in phases on the Chittagong College campus over celebrating the Victory Day on Wednesday (December 16).

Kotwali Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Jasim Uddin told banglanews that Chittagong college unit BCL went to Shaheed Minar on the campus to place wreaths to martyrs of liberation war.

At the same time, Chhatra Shibir also thronged there to pay tribute that triggered altercation and scuffle between two groups.

After being chased by Shibir activists, BCL men took position in front of Mohsin College, opposite to Chittagong College.

During the time, Shibir leaders-activists from Mohsin College hurled brick chips at BCL men.

On information, police rushed to the spot and trying to bring the situation under control.
