HABIGANJ: Police arrested Sylhet metropolitan city unit general secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami from Bahubal of the district.

The arrestee was identified as Shahjahan Ali.

He was arrested around 12:00pm Saturday.

Model Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mosharraf Hossain told banglanews that on a tip-off, police conducted the drive to arrest Shahjahan Ali.

The arrestee was accused in several cases including of creating violence and remained fugitive for a long, he added.

According to the OC, the arrestee will be sent to Habiganj court this afternoon.
