MEHERPUR: Police detained 21 activists and supporters of BNP and its major ally Jamaat-e-Islami conducting overnight drives in Meherpur district on Thursday.

Meherpur assistant police super Mostafizur Rahman said that they conducted the drive to keep the law and order situation under control.

They detained 15 activists and supports of BNP and six from Jamaat, he added.

According to the ASP, some of the detainees are also accused in several cases.
