DHAKA: The investigation agency of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has completed the final probe report against two ‘Razakars’ M Liakat Ali and Aminul Islam alias Rajab Ali from Habiganj and Kishoreganj districts.
In the report, several charges were brought against the duo for committing crimes against humanity, including murder, genocide, detention, abduction, looting and torture.
M Liakat Ali, Lakhai Upazila Parisad chairman and former president of upazila Awami League and Aminul Islam alias Rajab Ali are on the run.
During the liberation war, they both allegedly committed crimes against humanity in Lakhai upazila of Habiganj, Nasirnagar of Brahmanbaria, and Astogram of Kishoreganj.
At a press conference at investigation agency office in city’s Dhanmondi area on Sunday, investigation agency chief coordinator Abdul Hannan Khan, senior coordinator Sanaul Haque and investigation officer Nur Hossain disclosed the information.
Investigation officers said that the probe report will be handed over to prosecution of the tribunal on Sunday. On basis of the report, prosecution will prepare formal charge and submit it to the tribunal.
The 313-page probe report is consisting of 179-page documents, 72-page main report and 62-page statements of witnesses.
In the report, 29 people were made witnesses against the two war crimes accused.
