DHAKA: BNP will arrange mass rally at Suhrawardi Udyan in city on Tuesday to mark January 5 as ‘Democracy Killing Day’.
The party also declared program of staging mass rally at district towns across the country on the day.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement at press conference after a joint meeting at party’s Nayapaltan central office in city on Saturday (January 2) afternoon.
He said that BNP also will arrange a two-day program to celebrate the 80th birthday of party founder Ziaur Rahman on January 19.
At the press meet, Fakhrul said radicalism will spread in the country if democracy is not restored.
To resist racialism, democracy will be restored through negotiation of the government with BNP without wasting time, he added.
Fakhrul also condemned and protested the attacks on BNP leaders-activists during recently held municipal elections.
