DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina opined that the country sees development whenever Awami League (AL) government assumes power.
She made this comment at AL executive council meeting at her official residence Ganabhaban in city on Saturday evening (January 9).
‘AL people sacrifice for nation,’ the PM said, ‘the party lead country’s war of independence. And whenever it comes to power it ensures country’s development’.
She also upheld the atrocities of occupying Pakistani forces during the war.
‘It was difficult to reconstruct a war-torn country. But it started stepping forward under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.’
The PM further said that after the assassination of Father of the Nation in 1975, the then ruler Ziaur Rahman killed at least 565 freedom fighters and rehabilitated anti-liberation elements.
According to her, later, BNP chief Khaleda Zia promoted the war criminals.
Upholding her government’s success in solving long-stranded problems with neighbors Myanmar and India, the PM said that her government solved the crisis without any bloodshed.
‘We want to materialize our Vision-21 as our per capita income, remittance and exports have been increased.’
