DHAKA: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad called an emergency press conference as the party is on the verge of splitting.

The conference will be held at party’s Banani central office at 2:00pm on Tuesday.

Party sources confirmed the matter to banglanews around 10:00am.

Reactions arose as he made his brother GM Kader, also presidium member and former minister, the co-chairman of the party on January 17.

Supporters of Raushan Ershad went angry in the announcement and declared her as the acting chairman of Jatiya Party.
