DHAKA: BNP’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been authorized to nominate the party candidates for upcoming Union Parishad elections.

BNP joint secretary general Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made this announcement to the media after meeting Election Commission (EC) officials in city on Tuesday (February 16).

He also informed the EC about the changes in party constitution over the posts of party chairperson and senior vice-chairman.

Earlier this afternoon, a BNP delegation, led by Rizvi, met EC officials regarding the UP elections, scheduled to be held in March.
