DHAKA: Ruling Awami League (AL) has finalized nomination of chairman aspirants for 739 union parisads in the upcoming elections, slated for March 22.

The AL president’s political office at Dhanmondi has published the list of chaiman nominees for first phase election on Friday night.

Earlier, Union Parisad Election Nomination Board of Awami League, led by party president Sheikh Hasina, finalized the aspirants for the first-ever partisan election.

On the other hand, nominated aspirants have already been informed about the party’s green signal for vying in the chairman post.

Testimonials, signed by AL president Sheikh Hasina, will be sent to aspirants with one or two days.

Union Parisad Election Nomination Board of Awami League, chaired by party president Sheikh Hasina, held four meeting from February 16 to finalise the aspirants.

The premier has also signed the testimonials for the aspirants in the meetings.
