DHAKA: Ruling Awami League (AL) will arrange a mass rally to celebrate historic March 7 speech of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The rally will be held in city’s Suhrawardi Udyan area, where father of the nation delivered the speech.

AL general secretary and also public administration minister Syed Ashraful Islam informed the media after a party meeting with AL and its front leaders on Wednesday (March 2).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the rally.

AL joint secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, food minister Advocate Qamrul Islam, disaster management and relief minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sayeed Khokon, among others, were present at the preparatory meeting.
